|All surveys are done to the mandatory standards promulgated by The United States Coast Guard under Title 46 of the United States Code (USC) and Titles 33 and 46 of The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and the voluntary standards and recommended practices developed by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) and The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)|
PREPURCHASE SURVEY - $24 per foot
Comprehensive inspection of the vessel's overall condition and operation, including structural integrity; fuel, electrical and water systems; propulsion system; equipment; electronics; maintenance and cosmetic appearance. Done with the vessel both in and out of the water. A sea trial is conducted. Rigging and sails examined on sailboats. Fair market value and replacement costs determined and assigned. Findings and recommendations made relative to items needing attention, either related to the above mentioned standards or otherwise.
Optional Additional Services
INSURANCE SURVEY - $20 per foot
Inspection requested by an insurance company to allow them to determine if the vessel is or continues to be an acceptable insurance risk. Focus is primarily on structural integrity and condition and operation of those systems which can present safety hazards (fuel, electrical, propulsion etc.) Less attention to cosmetics. Fair market value and replacement costs determined and assigned. Findings and recommendations made relative to items needing attention, either related to the above mentioned standards or otherwise.
APPRAISAL - $15 per foot
Inspection to gather sufficient information to determine a fair market value to settle an estate, for vessel donation or for a divorce or other legal case.
